Description
INHERIT THE WIND portrays, in partly fictionalizedd form, the famous and dramatic courtroom "Monkey Trial" battle that took place in Dayton, TN in the summer of 1925 between Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryant. The story centers around the issue of evolution vs. creationism, in the prosecution of twenty-four year old Tennessee teacher John T. Scopes for violating state law by introducing Darwin's theories of evolution into the public school classroom. It was the test case for the ACLU against state statutes of this law.
