Book and Byrics by Tom Jones
Music by Harvey Schmidt

directed by Jim Wadzinski

Description
"I Do, I Do!" with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, chronicles the marriage of Agnes and Michael Snow. Spanning 45 years, the show begins on their wedding day, and takes us through all of the trials and tribulations of a marriage -- the initial blush of young love, having and raising children, growing apart and coming together, and finally, the comfort and love of old age and a life spent together.

Based on the Jan De Hartog play "The Fourposter", the action of the play takes place entirely in the Snows' bedroom, which is dominated by a large four-poster bed. "I Do, I Do!" was originally produced on Broadway by legendary producer David Merrick, and starred Broadway legends Mary Martin (Peter Pan, The Sound of Music) and Robert Preston (The Music Man). It opened in 1966 to rave reviews, and Preston won a Best Actor Tony Award for his performance.

Jones and Schmidt (who also wrote The Fantastiks, the longest running musical in theater history) give us a deft and loving adaptation of the original play, highlighted by songs such as "I Love My Wife", "Nobody's Perfect", "When the Kids Get Married" and the ever popular "My Cup Runneth Over", which was a huge hit for Ed Ames in 1967.

PRODUCTION DATES
