Beginning August 22, classes will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons, 4:30-6:30 PM at the theater at 4328 Hugh Echols Blvd. An 8-session class is being planned for four different interests.
1. Monday class: An intense class for teens age 14 and older will be dedicated to working on content of a mature nature. It will be for teens who desire a forum to read, listen to, discuss, and perform theatre of a more contemporary and adult nature. This class requires parental approval. Classes will begin Monday, August 22.
2. Tuesday class: A class for any age will meet each week to learn about singing musical and contemporary pieces, breath control, using the body as an instrument, how to read music, how to give music character, and how to get character from music. The best way to get better at singing is to sing on a regular basis. Classes will begin Tuesday,  August 23.
3. Thursday class: For young people age 11 and older, students in this advanced class will learn how to read and analyze a script in order to define action and character, build a character inside and out, control body and voice, determining the best choices, and will experience advanced acting through monologues and scene work. Classes will begin Thursday, August 25.
4. Friday class:  For beginning actors age 10 and younger, students will learn fundamental theater discipline, how to read a script, stage directions, finding our voice, how to act with our body, what affects what how we act, and theatre etiquette. Classes will begin Friday, August 26.

The 8-session classes will continue through the fall and winter, culminating in a performance showcase March 9 & 10, 2012, at the theater. Subsequent classes will be progressive rather than repetitive, and while students will build on what they learn throughout the year, students may join the class of their choice at any time during the year.
Cost of each 8-session class will be $40.00, and discounts will be offered for multi-class registrants and families with multiple students.

To register for one or more classes, including students from the same family or registering one student for more than one class, please visit our registration page by clicking this link. You will be contacted regarding payment.
