Under the direction of Ryan Martin, the Bard of Avon will return to the Baytown Little Theater in an imaginative production of Twelfth Night. Replacing the setting in a semi-seedy New Orleans of the 1920’s, the story of Viola, lost after a storm and cast upon her wits to survive and make her way through love and loss, takes her to Duke Orsino’s household, where she is tasked to represent Orsino’s love to the melancholy Olivia. Viola, disguised as the young man Cesario, introduces herself at Olivia’s household, peopled by the likes of the drunken Toby Belch, the dim-witted Andrew Aguecheek, the fool Feste, Maria, Malvolio, and others. It is a romantic comedy that invites revelry and unbridled celebration.
The production opens Friday, April 13, at 8:00 PM, and continues with performances Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 PM through April 29. Get tickets online, or call the box office at 281-424-7617. Tickets are $15.00.
